The CodeMonkey Jr application is designed for small children aged 4 to 6 years old. Its interface is wordless and children learn how to code without having to write anything. The application uses the block code method. It is very intuitive and easy for those who are just learning how to code.
Application Overview
CodeMokney Jr. is a complete application teaching small children the basics of coding in an intuitive and fun way, in a colorful universe.
Indeed, children have to catch bananas and treasures that appear on the screen. To do so, they will have to use the adequate blocks of code to complete each mission and succeed each level.
They won’t get bored because the application offers 4 chapters and more than 30 challenges. Each of them allows them to learn programming concepts such as:
- Counting
- Directions
- Sequences
- Loops
They will have to rely on their logical thinking to succeed in their missions. At the end of each level, stars are awarded to children, for the purpose of letting them know their score. As they progress, the level of difficulty increases. However, this is done gradually.
We like the fact that this application is free, simple and colorful. On top of that, it comes with a website available here, where you can find programming courses for older children.
In addition, the website possesses an informative section for parents and educators. The section is a good initiative because it allows to you learn more about coding and help your children when necessary.
